The Roadmap to Canada

Follow the new 2025/26 regulations. The process now requires provincial attestation before you can apply.

01

Offer Letter & PAL

3-4 Months Before

After receiving your Letter of Acceptance (LOA), you must wait for the university to request a Provincial Attestation Letter (PAL) on your behalf. You cannot apply for a visa without this PAL.

PAL is now Mandatory
02

GIC & Medicals

SDS Requirement

Deposit $20,635 CAD into a Canadian bank (GIC) to prove living funds. You must also complete an upfront medical exam by an IRCC-approved panel physician.

GIC: $20,635 CAD
03

Apply via SDS Stream

Faster Processing

Submit your application online through the Student Direct Stream (SDS) if eligible. This fast-track process (20-day target) requires IELTS/PTE results and proof of 1st-year tuition payment.

Visa Fee: $150 CAD
04

Biometrics & PPR

The Final Step

Give your fingerprints at a VFS center. Once approved, you will receive a Passport Request (PPR) to get your visa stamped. The actual Study Permit paper is issued at the Canadian airport upon arrival.
