How to apply
The education loan process in five steps, in the order that works. The requirement for study loan approval that stops most people is the first one.
Get the offer first
Nothing moves before you hold a university offer. Apply to courses months ahead of any loan.
Check you are on the list
Each lender approves specific universities and courses. If yours is not on the list, no amount of paperwork fixes it.
Ask for a quote
A soft check gives you a rate without marking your record. Get two or three before choosing.
Send the documents
Transcripts, passport, offer letter, and proof of any scholarship. Certified translations take a week or more — start early.
Read the repayment terms
When repayments start, whether interest builds while you study, and what happens if you cannot find work. This is the part people skip.
Questions about education loans
How much interest will I actually pay?
More than most people expect. At 15% over ten years you repay about two and a half times what you borrowed. The interest calculation on an education loan compounds monthly, and on these loans it usually starts the day the money is released, not the day you graduate.
How do I apply for an education loan, step by step?
Offer letter first, always. Then check your university is on the lender’s approved list, ask two or three for a quote, send the documents, and read the repayment terms before signing. The full education loan process is on page three of this guide.
Start the certified translations early — that is what delays most applications.
