The Roadmap to Germany

Strict financial requirements ahead. You must prove you have the funds (~€12k) in a specific "Blocked Account" before applying.

01

Admission & Blocked Account

Priority Step

Once you have your university admission letter, you must open a Sperrkonto (Blocked Account) with a provider like Expatrio or Fintiba. You must transfer €11,904 to this account immediately.

Mandatory Deposit: €11,904
02

Visa Appointment & Health

Embassy Visit

Book an appointment at the German Mission (VFS or Embassy). You need your Blocked Account confirmation and "Incoming" Health Insurance (travel insurance for the first few weeks).

Travel Insurance Required
03

Visa Issuance (3-6 Weeks)

Temporary Entry

You will initially receive a 3-6 month entry visa. This allows you to travel to Germany. You cannot work full-time yet, but you can enter the country to finalize your enrollment.

Processing: ~4-6 Weeks
04

Anmeldung & Residence Permit

Critical In-Country

Upon arrival, you must find housing and complete Anmeldung (City Registration) within 14 days. Only after this can you activate your Blocked Account payouts and convert your visa to a Residence Permit.
