The format matches, but not the delivery. The real PTE academic test online is taken at a test centre or under remote proctoring, and it scores Speaking and Writing with Pearson’s own engine. What you get here is the reading and grammar half, which is the part that can be marked objectively.
PTE Academic runs 10 to 90. Most universities ask for 58–65, which is roughly IELTS 6.0–6.5. Competitive courses and several visa routes want 65–79.
PTE rewards speed and confidence more than the other tests, because it is computer-marked and strictly timed. Four to six weeks of daily timed PTE practice is a realistic target if your English is already solid.
