The UK Student Route is a transparent points-based system. Follow these steps to secure your CAS and Visa.
Get Your CAS Number
The Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is your most important document. You must pay a tuition deposit (usually £2k-£4k) to the university to trigger this electronic reference number.
Prove "Maintenance Funds"
You must show liquid funds in a bank account for 28 consecutive days.
London: Tuition + £1,334/month (9 months).
Outside London: Tuition + £1,023/month (9 months).
Pay IHS & Visa Fee
Complete the online application. You must pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) of £776/year upfront, plus the £490 Visa Application fee.
Biometrics & Interview
Visit a VFS/TLS center to give fingerprints and photo. 95% of students do NOT have a full interview, but you may be asked "Credibility Questions" about your course and university.
