The Roadmap to the USA

The US process is unique because it requires a face-to-face interview. Your goal: Prove you are a genuine student with intent to return home.

01

The I-20 Form

University Side

After admission and proving your finances, the university issues the Form I-20. This is the "Golden Ticket." It contains your SEVIS ID and program details. You cannot apply without it.

Critical Document
02

SEVIS Fee & DS-160

Online Steps

Pay the mandatory SEVIS I-901 Fee ($350) online. Then, complete the DS-160 visa application form. Keep the confirmation pages safe; you need them for the interview.

The Visa Interview

Face-to-Face

The make-or-break moment at the Embassy. You must answer questions about your study plans and finances. Crucial Tip: Demonstrate "Non-Immigrant Intent" (ties to your home country).
